Anyway, what is th best route for selling up for a single-handed practitioner? Either some local practice has to buy up, or a corporate or what? But how do people advertise or start on the selling

Re: Selling up

[quote user="J G Wray"]

What do you expect to get?

Succession 2.5-3times EBITDA

Private sale 3-3.5

Corporate 4-5 EBITDA but there are stories. Coroporates may expect you to stay on for a while on a salary and if you think you can pass on management issues then think again.

Anval as has been suggested, but there are others who can broker the sale.

EBITDA? Look it up and get a reality check.

Shame you had to end a perfectly good response with an unpleasant comment. Is this for our benefit or is it something you do in real life?

Re: Selling up

What do you expect to get?

Vets4Pets do acquisitions - Email: acquisitions@vets4pets.com

http://www.cvsukltd.co.uk/sale.htm CVS seems to prefer 4 vet minimum practices but it's always worth checking it out.

Companion Care does a lot of practice opening these days, but I don't know if they buy existing practices at all; most of their new premises seem to be new clinics. https://www.ccvetjobs.co.uk/contact.aspx is contact details for their partnerships team, at the very least they can tell you if there's a right person to talk to.

Classically of course, if you're looking to sell independently, you have the ad on Vet Record, Vet Times, probably vetsurgeon and vetclick as well. Some of the vet accountants (Hazlewoods and a few others) also appear to offer valuations and advice.

Sorry it's not going well for you and hope you manage to find a fresh start. Best wishes for you in your future!
