An amazingly varied career - sadly those sort of options are probably a thing of the past. I always wish I'd been born a few years earlier and joined the Colonial Veterinary Service. I see he was 80 years old when contributing to this internet forum - pretty good going !

What a fascinating life story!

He always came over as a gentleman of wisdom. When topics became heated his was always a voice of reason. This forum will be all the poorer for his loss!

It is amazing how much you come to know people on a forum such as this. It may not always be accurate of course but looking at his life story and the comments left by others its appears my image of him was completely right!

I feel a genuine sense of loss!
