Another thing we share - good old BGS alumni. I assume from your general greater maturity that you're older than I so you may have come into contact with some of the Mills clan (my two older brothers). Not only have you doubled the number of vets I know from Rochdale but also taken into double figures the number of BGS old girls (I was a shy child in front of girls, see)

I think Yorkshire Street is pretty much shut down actually - the town centre is dreadful. Such a shame- I used to love climbing around on that sheep statue as a kid!

You probably know the road I grew up on then - Foxholes Road. It is the one at the bottom of Syke, facing the playing fields. There are 4 rows of back-to-back terraced houses....that was my patch!

Littleborough eh? All the posh kids came from Littleborough.... I used to love going to 'Hollie Lake' though!

Definitely explains it. I'm a Littleborough boy, which is technically Rochdale though likes to think its not, though my grandad lives on the edge of Syke common and regularly holds court in the Hunters so I know it and its duck poind well. Just been there this weekend actually; did you know the McDonalds has shut in the town centre? Most perturbing.

Great guy. Met him once, growing up as a Rochdale kid like Gillian (it explains many of our spats I think). Had that calm knowledgeable enthusiasm about him which is impossible to fake.
