Nagging never seems to work for me and giving them an incentive to do something better has also fallen on deaf ears! I was hoping another ezVet user would give me a stunning answer and I would be able to return to the practice looking smug. I am still hoping!

[/quote] Rather than throw out the whole idea, could you adapt it so they become better trained. For example attach it to a minor incentive associated with better stock management. For example a stock control swear box ( failure results in a minor financial penalty to go towards biscuits) or bottle of whisky to the best managed car over a period of time?

Woody in Gloucester had 'em trained all right 42 years ago. Before computers, even. As I remember, the secretary would measure the level of everything in the car tray and if the vet couldn't account for it she would nag until he could.

Not a helpful answer, but our PMS can cope with multiple sale items (e.g. 1ml of injectable or a whole bottle) being derived from a single stock item (and even being sold at different markups), and I'm surprised ez can't?

So your PMS can't cope with sub items or broken packs? That is just crazy.

We use Teleos and have an item entered as it comes (eg 100ml bottle of Alamycin) then a 1ml sub item. It allows us to charge an injection/dispensing fee (built in) for broken bottles, but we don't charge for the full bottle.

Will it accept fractions - do you think 0.05 Alamycin (5ml) would work? That would make it clear on the bill they were buying a fraction of a bottle and still not require you to sell 1000ml if they took 10 bottles in a pneumonia outbreak.

Could you not just "sell" the items to your cars so that the drugs are not in the practice stock as such? Any drugs then sold to the farmer as part bottles could be done from the vets cars and not from whole unopened bottles in stock.
