When she ran out, she just got it from a vet in Greece without prescription, the dog was still in GB and had never been seen by the vet in Greece

Re: POMs from abroad no prescription

My priority would be discussion with the client as to whether it is appropriate medication. That way you can be sure of your own position in all of this at least, even if nothing further is done. You don't need to disclose the client details at this stage at least, and obviously there is still the question of client confidentiality here too to consider.

Re: POMs from abroad no prescription

In my mind it begs the question why is the dog on colchicine? I presume for amyloidosis so is it actually clinical or are they using it prophylactically. Propylactic use is not currently advised. I cannot see the owners have done anything wrong yet to justify anything said against them, what will be more interesting is when they ask you for more, if you choose to continue with it, where they choose to source it from.

Re: POMs from abroad no prescription

well actually I really don't think they realised they were doing anything wrong, they came with meds from SA, and the dog had been treated there far longer than they have been here, and they were in Greece on holiday.

Re: POMs from abroad no prescription

I'd be nervous keeping them in case it was discovered that I was an accessory after the fact
