&lt;p&gt;The same way bacteria from your lavatory might &amp;ndash; just &amp;ndash; get back in to the mains (if your lavatory cistern were supplied by the rising main). How the heck the jobsworth thinks water in a tub table is going to flush back into the mains water supply anyway is beyond comprehension but they have to justify their wages and exert their little bit of power.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
