&lt;p&gt;I, for one, would not want my retention fee spent on the College LEADING a prosecution against these people. This is an animal welfare problem and almost certainly a matter for the RSPCA. However, they would need evidence enough to convince a court of law and that implies hard facts plus, almost certainly, a veterinary surgeon or two prepared to stand up and give evidence. I am in little doubt that the College will do all in its power to advise and support such a prosecution and add in its &amp;quot;two-pennorth&amp;quot; with respect to the veterinary surgeons act should the evidence support such action.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;The following advice if suggested for Flu (viral) symptoms:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;- At the pre-clinical stage, the guinea pig&amp;#39;s temperature will be raised.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;- It is important to identify the signs early, so regular temperature checks should be undertaken&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;- Calpol should be given to the piggy at 8 hourly intervals for a period of three days.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;- Rehydration fluids will be required (sub-cut preferable)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;- A &amp;#39;dab&amp;#39; of Vic vapor rub on the end of the nose will help to keep the airways clear.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&amp;#39;Arial&amp;#39;,&amp;#39;sans-serif&amp;#39;;color:#888888;"&gt;If in doubt, contact your nearest Rodentologist for further advice/assistance&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

This is a dog that had come to me with a vague discomfort around the pelvis area; I took xrays and told her I couldn&amp;#39;t see an obvious orthopedic problem, gave her nsaid and when I followed up the case she had said that the dog was fine and back to norml.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It transpires that when she took the dog to an agility training course &amp;quot;the ladies there&amp;quot; suggested there was something wrong with the dog and advised her to go to the resident chiropractor, who manipulated the dog and told her that the dog&amp;#39;s pelvis was &amp;quot;wrong&amp;quot; or something to that effect - I am not familiar with chiropractor terminology -. She said she was told no treatment was necessary, but she was asked to tell me about it.&lt;/p&gt;
