I am sure their new vet is not looking forward to meeting them much....I hate fickle ship jumpers , nothing worse than getting those thick histories, usually booked late on a Friday evening....

Numb the pain with a celebratory glass of fizz, whilst reflecting on the fact that they've probably stomped away from numerous other relieved service providers over the years and spend all their free time writing letters to complaints departments about disappointing shampoo purchases.

The art with these kinds of clients is to know when they are likely to jump ship just at the point you've had enough so you take the initiative and sack them before they sack you. That really annoys them. Plus don't forget to add 'best of luck' to the notes when you fax the history to the new vet. I wouldn't be despondent about it I'd be celebrating.

Take a deep breath and move on. You know you did your best and sometimes stuff happens. It will go on happening until you appreciate that it isn't you - it's just "stuff". As long as your intentions remain honest you are fine. And if your intentions had not been honest - you wouldn't be feeling bad now!

Go outside and smell the rain and watch the clouds - come back in and fix the next patient and enjoy the praises of the next grateful client.

No.

But in another 20 years you'll just think "well, f*** 'em".

Make sure you scrub them off your system for reminders for vaccines and so on. And make mental notes for what you will say if they ever try to come back.

No, BUT I do think the people who bugger off elsewhere are often people you'd like to keep and the irritating bar-stewards seem to keep coming and moaning. There's a few I would not be sad to see the back of!
