In the past I kept notes on my CPD card or on computer, and it generally comprised of my courses plus 10hours general reading. I'm beginning to realise that this is quite a large

Re: How to Document CPD

No- just curious

Re: How to Document CPD

My understanding of 'distance learning' above the allowed undocumented 10 hours is that if you can prove that you learned something that changed or improved the way you work and can document that, then what you can claim and it's source is unlimited. As those who are desperate enough to read them will know, I write a lot of articles for journals and in theory one can claim for time spent in researching for these, however it is very difficult to quantify this as it is pretty ad hoc, I don't set the clock and record every minute or hour and it can take days or weeks to finish. Basically am I bovered? I can generally document well over the statutory minimum. Sounds like bordering on obsession wanting to record every last bit of reading you do.

Re: How to Document CPD
As long as you document enough standard CPD (courses, lectures, reading) to satisfy the requirements, does it matter how you record the rest? That is for your own interest, education and benefit; record it in the way that suits you best, even in your own memory (as we used to do).

I wanted to find out exactly how much I was doing and wasn't sure what was official CPD and what wasn't. I'll have a look at the online recording and maybe give it a try.

Re: How to Document CPD
Does raising a clinical question here also count?
My understanding is yes it does. But you'd have to think about how much time you actually spent reading the replies.

Re: How to Document CPD

I've tried to register with that so I could have a look - and didn't manage.
