1) Frontline Spot on given orally - yes really
2) Metacam oral.
The client used the big syringe rather than the small syringe - 8 x normal dose.

Tigers, Sharks & Robins in Hull but don't remember any bears. I guess the traps were an effective deterent. A number of the locals had large knives and dealt with any stray wildlife / pet cats / Leeds United fans promptly so I always felt safe from animal attack. At the practice we used the old razor wire around the walls technique and that seemed to help. I also got to know the desk sergeant at the local Police station very well.

I seem to get a lot of dogs eating anti-depressants, tubes of skin cream. I get used to looking them up as I have never heard of most of them. I have had a couple of cases where the husband and dog have swapped tablets but they actually turned out to be on exactly the same drugs. Not technically toxicity but again in Hull I would get an annual visit from the local RSPCA Inspector with a cat caught in a bear trap. It is amazing how little damage they do to a cats leg but they make a fascinating demonstration with a pencil!

On the third day, she followed the dog and saw that the shearers were mixing beer with their porridge and the dog was finishing the bowls and had just got hammered.
Possibly an element of covering ones rear but I do prefer to check any dog that has ingested any medicines. I also want to check what is left of the packaging - if they are going to bring that down they might as well bring the dog! I accept ingested packaging is as likely or more to cause problems than the pills so I do check for abdominal discomfort at the same time!

Would your GP/A&E want to see a child that had ingested birth control pills? I bet they would!

Owner watched her bouncing off the walls all night, and eventually decided to phone us around midmorning. Aaaarrrggghhhhhh etc. etc. etc.

Oh, and 40mgs worth of owners buprenorphine tablets. They gave him soapy water to make him vomit, which apparently, made him bring up some foam and burp a lot. Having been advised to bring the dog in rather swiftly, and gone through all the where are you and what will it cost and yes, we'll be there as soon as, they never turned up!

It's been the week for toxicities!
