Our 2 main surgeries are 23 and 29 miles from Harleston, and between them we have around 100 clients from Harleston registered. It is only 10 miles from Diss (population 6472 according to Wikipedia) where there are three veterinary surgeries already in existence. There are surgeries in Long Stratton (9 miles away), Beccles (15 miles away), East Bungay (9miles away), Halesworth (12 miles away), Framlingham (15 miles away), and Eye (11 miles away), as well as the current practice in Harleston as mentioned above, and probably some others I've missed out. I'm sure all of these practices have many more Harleston clients than we do.

Although I can see it may be inconvenient that all these practices are a few miles away, I would be surprised if, given the current local coverage in a fairly rural area of Suffolk/Norfolk, there would be sufficient business to set up a new practice.

I'm guessing that is the practice mentioned in the letter, but from their website the consulting times are:

Mon, Thurs, Fri:
08:30-10:00, 12:00-13:00, 14:00-15:00, 16:00-17:00
Tues & Weds:
08:30-10:00 , 14:00-15:00, 16:00-17:00
Sat:
08:30-10:00

Not 5-6pm as in the letter. I can understand that the practice being on the edge of town might be difficult for someone with a large dog and no car, but would there be enough business for a second practice in the town? According to Wikipedia the combined population of Redenhall and Harleston was 4.058 in the 2001 census.

Suggest they try Oakwood Vets. As far as I am aware they are in Harleston already. I may be out of date and need correcting!!

I assume my first practice (first job!) still has a branch in Long Stratton which is not that far away!
