I am a lecturer in veterinary nursing and animal behaviour at Harper Adams University College. One of my final year veterinary Nursing students (she finishes in about 3 weeks) and I have been awarded a small grant/scholarship to look at ways

Re: Southampton / Cambridge practices - can you help?
Nearby there is Best Friends Broadway in Peterborough, Pontefract (Clear Ridge), Nuvet, Pengelly & Mizen (worth contacting- quite busy) and Youngs that may have the necessary case numbers. There's also Vets4Pets, Village Vets and Companion Care. Towards Huntingdon, there is the Cromwell Veterinary Group which are very busy and very lovely. I think they also do some of the vet work for Wood Green Animal Shelter so worth getting in touch with them.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying and some good suggestions there. We have contacted both and it looks like we have probably now found somewhere to carry out the data collection. I won't say where until I have full confirmation but I will update this thread when I do. In the meantime, any other ideas also welcome as I hate to count my chickens (and all that)!

Best wishes,

There is a new fancy Blue Cross cat shelter in Cambridge though, not sure who does their vet work but they likely have a big throughput. There's also the Wood Green Animal Shelter HQ about 5-6 miles outside Cambridge which may be worth contacting.

In Southampton why not try the PDSA? Most have separate cat wards and around 15 spays a week so should be suitable. RSPCA also have a presence there but not sure to what extent.

Re: Southampton / Cambridge practices - can you help?
If she's on the west side of Cambridge, have you thought about the vet school on Madingley Road? I'd suggest an approach through the animal welfare bods first, as they tend to be a bit less, erm, stuck-up than some of the clinicians

(anon for fairly obvious identification reasons)
