Elavon's website is designed to confuse! Nothing says Elavon, logging in is far from straightforward and downloading statements takes a degree and a valium to do. Once you have learnt its idiosyncrasies it becomes usable.

Streamline was very simple!

yea it is Evalon, and I too cannot remember why I changed historically. when Iwas the victim of 'infedelity' they were very helpful however.

Not even heard of PCI DSS certification let alone done it. I just sign a merchant agreement, pay my fees for administration and terminal rental and life goes on - am I supposed to be doing something else? I use Lloyds TSB Cardnet and Merchant Rentals it all seems very straightforward.

Still was, three months ago anyway. The security thing really just a ten-minute. online questionnaire, and you didn't pass unless you ticked the good boxes. It seemed quite sensible to me, since the opportunities for fraud and theft are great.

We have been buried under this nonsense since we changed to Elavon from Streamline. Streamline was very straight forward (but may not be now!) and I wonder why we changed!

Originally they put money in the bank next day which made the books much easier but somewhere it became the 2-3 days it was with Streamline. The machine works very slowly so we will probably change back.

No we all do - do it on line, some of it makes your blood boil, but its got to be done or you get fined and disconnected

You need codes and passwords and it takes about half an hour. But you get a nice little certificate at the end which you can frame and be proud of.
