Ok so I've just finished a big update for My App which includes new sections on birds of prey and poultry. I'm sending it to the developers next week. It's going Android by the end of July also so all you non iphoners can access it. Hope it's prooving useful for you all, let me know if there's anything you want me to add for future updates. Thankyou Burgess for producing this, and it's free, which considering they commissioned distinguished authors is appreciated.

There's always room for resources like this.

Would it be possible to have a new header called Veterinary Resources Arlo? I posted several months ago on web sites such as IVIS that have information on line. The problem is that this thread is buried now.

There are other Apps which Colleagues use and a list of these would be handy

I'm so sorry - I have blundered in and didnt realise that this was a specific thread for Marks app. I thought it was just a general thread about new vet apps. Mark - no offence meant, my apologies. The clue is in the title 'New Veterinary App'.

Marks App is great and I have used it several times. This is another new veterinary App! Nothing wrong with several App's. Marks advert is at the bottom of the page.

The more reliable Apps the better IMO!

Yep... who wrote it, and why is it better than Mark's? I have to say, I'm amused by the brass neck of a company using a thread announcing a useful app created by a specialist in the field and offered at what appears to be a very reasonable price, to advertise their own, free one. You know that thing where attempts at advertising are just annoying enough to make sure people remember the product... in order to avoid it?

There is a new app just released from Burgess Excel - it's called the FIBREVORE HANDBOOK and is available to download for Android and Apple devices. It contains loads of information, xrays and anatomical drawings on rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. There is more information on content below.

Its FREE to download. All you have to do is go to the Apple or Google / Android App store and search for 'fibrevore'!

A handy guide to rabbit, guinea pig and chinchilla veterinary care including:
- Health: common health problems, health conditions, symptoms, treatment, infectious diseases
- Anatomical Drawings & references - great for explaining existing conditions of patients to pet owners
- Radiographs of the skull and abdomen - perfect in-practice reference guide
- Husbandry - general information on housing, handling and more
- Diet - information on digestive systems, correct feeding and diet
- General information - biometric details, habitat, breeds and other information

In addition the Fibrevore Handbook contains links to a range of Academic Articles, CPD courses and information on Burgess Excel and its products

This app will be updated on an on-going basis with further research findings, articles, images and general information

Hello, thank you for those comments, they are greatly appreciated. The response has been very good so far with Brazil now on the list of countries making sales. I hope it goes to get a bit more info out there and to show that things like blood samples aren't that hard and can increase the service we can offer minority species. Thanks again. Mark

Hi Mark,

Is it an universal app (both iPhone and iPad)? Because I don't see the + sign in the iTunes store. If I download it on my iPhone and then same app on iPad will it work as full screen application on iPad? Do I need to magnify the app 2X like many iPhone apps not designed for iPad?

Kate, I did say the same until my other half got one and I had a proper look at it. I am now a very happy iphone user and wouldn't want any other phone again. I do use many apps I wouldn't have dreamt of before as a music slow-downer, a scanning app and even a movie maker....
