Wood ash mixed with water to a loose paste is great for cleaning the glass on logburners

However I have enough sense left to not try cleaning the wood burner glass with the super dooper potassium hydroxide cleaning fluid. At least not tonight

Don't try blacking the wood burner after 3 glasses of wine on a friday night cos you have a house viewing the next day. Unless you like the black spotted carpet effect

At the moment, the open road is a theoretical dream: there are a few obstacles in the way, including getting the thing started again. The plan will be to get round a fair bit of France in the summer, and possibly further afield in the long term: it's 25 years old, which means that there are no computerised thingamajigs, and everything can be welded or duct-taped - so there's no place on earth where it can't be fixed up.

Haven't tried the sound system yet, Mark - but judging by the number of speakers, the last owner was running a different kind of mobile disco.
