'left and de-registered' is a very small number. Less than 1/2 a dozen. Normally people who have been offended in some way!

'Inactive' - difficult to know. Apart from anything else, how do you define inactive? Some people visit the site many times every week. Some only once a month. Some only once a year. I have seen one or two people who have posted for the first time on the site after joining over two years ago!

We don't have data concerning how often individual members view but our traffic to the site is up 25% year on year (227,000 visits year-to-date).

Well, I've said before, but I do feel a bit of a fraud being praised for something which exists to make me money!

Still, we all have to earn a living. And I'm quite proud that I'm doing it in a way that seems to be helpful. Particularly when quite a few people said to me at the outset that it could never be done; vets would never use a site like this in significant numbers.

I have the same impression. A number of possible reasons, but I think the most important is that when people arrive here for the first time (or after a long time) and see what a generally helpful, friendly place it has become, it makes it far more likely they'll get stuck in.
