Poultry medicine? Did we have lectures on poultry medicine? I must have slept through the lot although I do vaguely remember finding crazy chick syndrome was discussed somewhere! We had Prof Baxter at Edinburgh!

I probably asked you to wake me up if anything interesting was discussed. You did not so cannot believe 'Daddy' Baxter had much to say that was interesting. Good job the only exam questions on poultry were about Newcastle disease - it was about the only thing I knew about poultry as a student.

Animal husbandry lectures. I remember as a student; could have had a good nights sleep, 3 double expressos before the lecture, and would be out for the count in less than 5 minutes.

Obstetrics was a good one in my uni - the subject matter was interesting, but the lecturer couldput an insomniac hyperactive meth addict out without trouble...

I sleep normally when I'm on call We're not that busy at the moment so maybe that's part of it!

Same here! Had no problems sleeping at any time, but staying awake in lectures after a heavy night was difficult!

I think being on call has a lot to do with it, there's no way you can sleep properly when you are on call. I think it conditions you to

not sleeping well, even though I haven't done on call now for several years.

Funnily enough I don't remember having a problem sleeping as a student. more a problem keeping awake!

Many vets are insomniacs, many business owners are too. The combination of a business owning veterinary surgeon is a recipe for almost guaranteed sleep problems!
