Maybe show them their own website!

Private, documented, self-directed learning such as keeping up to date with relevant veterinary journals can be incorporated into your CPD plans and it is good practice to keep your own personal record of such activities, perhaps in the form of a learning diary. Otherwise, undocumented private studies can account for up to ten hours per year on average on the CPD Record Card.

Thanks for the welcome :) I didn't know there was a new practice in Culloden - I'm not over that way often but I've had basketball matches out there from time to time. Culloden is huge! I will definitely pop my head in past to say hello next time I'm in the sneck. Best of luck with the new practice!

I do have a photo somewhere - due to aforementioned computer problems all my nice pics got wiped. I shall see if I can get hold of some and then see if I can overcome the techincal challenges involved in posting them up here :)

What a lovely introduction - welcome to the forum Alison, as someone has already said, it's a great place to be. V. envious of you living in the highlands, I try to get up there whenever I can & hope to be able to do a bit of walking round Fort William in the Summer (I know - the highlands in the Summer; after the Bettyhill midgie storm of '87 I vowed I'd never go up at that time of year again but, hey ho!).

Hello :) I'd definitely miss it up here if I had to move.

We are about 2 hours north of Inverness, on the west coast (as you correctly guessed). The weather here over the winter has been awful (we lost our garden shed to the gales) but it's beautiful today. For the last couple of years May has been the best time up here - lovely, warm, sunny settled weather and no midgies! I hope it's like that again for your trip up

After posting I decided I should take advantage of the lovely sunny weather and went up a hill - does that make you feel any better??

Actually, you can log up to 10 hours of self study as part of your annual 35 hours. Vetsurgeon.org does indeed count - after all, there's a lot of experience around here and I've learned a trick or two from the forumgoers here. (If I ever get back into practice, I will remember that glycerol trick!) (constipated cat thread). :)

My computer, happily, appears to be fixed - however internet connection up here can be tricky - every time there is heavy rain, snow or gales it cuts out (which, being Scotland, is rather a lot of the time).

That aside, I am looking forward to getting lots of good ideas from this forum - do you reckon every time I log on it counts as CPD??
