Be a bit careful bathing piggies though, Ive had one or two where the owner has bathed them and they hav had a bout of ileus becasue of the stress. Give some meloxicam also and check Vit C supplementation.

I might try an Clotrimazole ointment in a single infected animal (and had good success with it before). But if there are several infected guinea pigs as described above I would go for Itraconazole, otherwise it just keeps bouncing from one to the other.

As above, I usually treat for 2 weeks post negative culture which works out at around 6-8 weeks, especially if (as it sounds in this case) it has been a bit stubborn so far.

^^^ what Marie said. wouldn't touch Griseofulvin in this day and age, haven't used it for years. I'd also use malaseb shampoo.

I would opt for oral itraconazole instead- the feline Itrafungol liquid can be used via the cascade. I use 5mg/kg/day for 14 days continuously and have had good results without adverse effects.
