These drops can often cause a rebound vasodilatation effect if used over any significant length of time so I find mainly useful for snotty flu cats that won't eat.

It may be worth trying to see if there is an improvement short term but nose drops are unlikely to be that useful long-term. Do steroids reduce the symptoms?

I've tried the phenylephrine drops in one patient, worked for a while then stopped working.
For an empirical approach to these snuffly/'allergic' rhinitis, maybe 3wks fluoroquinolones to clear secondary bacteria, then trial steroids to see if helps (if so fluticasone longterm may help).

At BSAVA Philip Padrid was very enthusiastic about on/off use of phenylephrine nasal decongestant drops topically. He was pretty unconvinced by mucolytics also.
