Small amount of crepitus of L stifle, but no abnormal or restricted mobility, no cranial draws, joint seems stable. What looks like a left tibial crest avulsion

Re: Tibial crest avulsion in a cat.

Hi Ben,

Patella felt normal during euga. acute onset about 4 days ago. presented and rads 2 days ago, very active cat, jumps fences etc.

Responding well to cage rest and metacam, and using the limb so far, so conservative management the way to go i feel.

Re: Tibial crest avulsion in a cat.

Hi Clive,

Speed of onset?

There's mineralisation in the meniscus, possible enthesiophyte distal PT, and it seems like there might be patellar alta. Is the patella stable?

Cheers,

In dogs within 2-3 weeks they are practically sound. In fact the only dog that had had a persistent problem was one that had extensive metal work put in it.
