Our local VS recommended we use Butox ( 0.75% Deltamethrin) as a spray on the horses to repel flies and ticks. It was marketed in France as a pour-on for cattle and sheep, but seems quite OK in horses as a spray (I think we diluted the concentrate 1/10 with water and then used a hand-held spray bottle to apply). I think it is licensed for use in horses in Aus.

Intervet market it here as Butox Swish for cattle and sheep. Worth giving them a call.

Suppose you could apply Frontline spray locally - but a bit expensive to apply to an entire horse....?
