Is anyone else diagnosing this and if so how do you find cats do in the long term?

Re: T foetus

Should have given you ages- 2 of the cats are 4yo, the other 2 are now 9mo (diagnosed at 6mo) and they are all orientals. We think the 2 younger cats probably brought it into the household. The younger cats had much more severe diarrhoea than the 4yos. The older cats had intermittent 'cow pat' like diarrhoea (all of them cultured positive).

Re: T foetus

We are treating four cats in the same household at the moment. We had a positive culture after lower dose Ronidazole, so have just begun treatment at higher dose (30mg/kg I think). Cats seem to be responding clinically, just hoping we get a negative culture after the higher dose. I'll let you know how they get on. They are all on fortiflora and Purina EN as well as Ronidazole.

Re: T foetus

Have seen a couple in the last year, both British Shorthairs. Both clients opted not to treat after much discussion, and both cats had no csx by time they were 10months old. We just used highly digestible diets and symptomatic tx in the bad phases. They seem to do really well, just takes time.

The first cleared completely with ronidazole (I started at a very low dose as I was a chicken, and had to increase it), no side effects, no remission as far as I know. The second is yet to start treatment. Danielle Gunne-Moore was very helpful.
