As mentioned above licensed drugs have SPCs found on the VMD and EMA websites. For other products each company should be able to provide Material Safety Datasheets (MSDS) / COSHH sheets to help you comply with PSS.

At Virbac our COSHH sheets also includes several of the classified drugs - if you need ours contact me and I'll email you them.

It is useful to bookmark these pages on each computer for easy access! We have bookmarks for Dunlops COSHH pages as well but that requires a log-in!

Para 9.6 in the PSS Manual.

As well as the NOAH printed Compendium I find the NOAH Compendium on line very handy - use the 'Print' option for each product to save endless page turning (thanks to Michael Woodhouse for that tip !).

We've just had our practice standards inspection as well. Having the data sheets on computer was never mentioned. Not sure where your boss got this one from.

From the PSS guide

"Safety data-sheets are not legally required
for veterinary medicines and many medicine
companies do not produce them. Practices
should therefore ensure that they have access
to the current version of either the Summary of
Products Characteristics (SPC) or a data-sheet
for each authorised medicine used or stored
in the practice. Copies of the current NOAH
Compendium of Data Sheets are acceptable
to fulfill this requirement for those medicine
companies that participate."

Doesn't mention having data sheets on the computer, just available.

Is this a requirement? If so it's news to me and we don't do it. Our last inspection was last Novemeber.
