Only clinical exam finding is tachycardia - HR = 240bpm, pulses intact but slight, no murmurs, no right sided signs, no cyanosis

Re: tachycardia in a 10 yo Welsh Springer - advice please!!

+1 Rob - SVT/VTAC can be caused by a number of things. It may well be that you get enough evidence from radiographs today, but I would certianly want at least an ECG as well - you want to find out if it is has an atrial fibrilation before you blindly start digoxin for example. Does this dog have an arrhythmia and if so is it regularly irregular or not?

If the dog is displaying no overt clinical signs then it will probably be ok to be left for 24hrs, but I say probably as lack of clinical signs doesn't always indicate severity of disease and these can drop dead at any second!
