In fact it doesn't come up with any thread headings, just content. Could you look into that please?
There is a drop down in the search box to order the list by most recent. The default is 'most relevant', but I usually find I change it to 'most recent' and perhaps the techies could look at changing that to be the default.

RE: Ringworm in Dogs

Interesting and useful input, but be aware the original question was posed in 2010 so the solution may have been found by now, one way or another

Does it fluoresce or did you just do culture? It'll obviously be important to ensure complete cure prior to stopping treatment so what are you planning for monitoring. I would try and speak to a dermatologist - nail bed infections are so difficult to treat if severe and if the nails are twisted and crumbly they may recommend removing the nails (horrid I know, but I've seen it done before by a derm specialist). I wonder if the infection could be secondary to e.g. onychodystrophy?

RE: Ringworm in Dogs

Animalcare do Fungiconazol 400mg tablets- veterinary licensed ketconozole for treating microsporum and trichophyton sp. if that helps

Rightly or wrongly, I'd probably be tempted by something systemic in addition to any topical treatment.

For me that would be itraconazole capsules or griseofulvin granules.

What type of Microsporum?
I would try Imaverol washes (or possibly Malaseb). I saw a really good method of washing a dog's foot recently - so simple and obvious that I can't believe I have never thought of, or seen it before (I'm probably the only vet in the land who hasn't) . Just in case there is anyone else equally ignorant out there:

Take a rubber examination/surgeon's glove and half fill it with your wash solution. Stick dog's foot into the glove. Grasp the open end of glove tightly round the lower leg and using the other hand vigorously agitate the main part of the glove, thus ensuring the wash gets into all the nooks and crevices of the foot. Take glove off and discard the dirty solution. Repeat as necessary. Brilliant !

I suppose if the fungus is growing deep in the nails then you might also need something systemic in additon to the washes.
