They have not responded well to Optimmune so were prescribed 'homemade' 2% cyclosporin in virgin olive oil drops.
They are now doing very much better.
Has anyone got a favourite recipe for these

Re: 2% Cyclosporin Eye Drops

http://www.vetsurgeon.org/forums/p/2885/6552.aspx#6552

Re: 2% Cyclosporin Eye Drops

Hi Bob,

I posted a query about a recipe for "homemade" cyclosporin solution a while ago, with some very useful replies. You should be able to find it under the title "Diluting Sandimmun - Help" in the clinical forums. I'm not technically minded enough to insert a link directly to it! In the end I also used corn oil on others' advice and olive oil did seem to be irritant in some dogs. Also apparently you can get solutions made up aseptically by Moorefields - see robloxley's post.

Re: 2% Cyclosporin Eye Drops

We use corn oil.

I commend you for following the cascade system to the letter - I have found quite a few dogs that wouldn't respond to Optimmune adequately, yet seem to have improved with a different (human-licensed) cyclosporin formulation.
