I have been presented with an 8 year old female chinchilla that has developed whitish flat plaque-like lesions over bothen-USTelligent Community 10https://www.vetsurgeon.org/thread/15746?ContentTypeID=1Fri, 09 Apr 2010 15:28:36 GMT146601cc-3922-4be7-9974-7e1d4e45a66b:d65347f7-ab45-4274-8519-895a95b54298Vikki Halliday LLB<p>We see a bit of ringworm, that is not usually cultured or picked up on lab exams, but we will usually treat with topical Surolan for 21 days and this seems to work.</p> <p>See it a bit in Guinea Pigs, rats, rabbits and Degus at a local pet store, so not impossible this Chinchilla has it?</p> <p>Would also look for other systemic illness and check general husbandry as Chincillas can get depressed if they are not cared for appropriately.</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
