He was sedated, gelded and a catheter passed, which did so very easily. He had some struvite, probably more than could be considered "normal" but there was no sign of a urethral plug. As soon as he woke up the cat was a loving playful kitten again. The problem recurred and we re-sedated him to get pelvic X-rays. Didn't find anything abnormal and the catheter passed easily again. For the next few days afterwards he was fine but then over a few weeks had periods where he was determined to kill anyone near him. He never re-blocked and urinalysis has been perfect. He has been rehomed to an RSPCA volunteer as he continues to have periods of being incredibly friendly and periods of hyper-aggression as if he may still be in pain.

Re: Blocked bladder in young entire male DSH
At the last unblockage his penis felt very firm and enlarged, could the fact that his is entire be making his penis more swollen due to hormones mimicking a blockage???
