A 2 year old Burman neutered female presented with a 1 week history of inappetence (though apparently never a "big eater"), vomiting and diarrhoea with the owner also noticing weight loss.
A blood sample revealed very mild increases in liver and renal parameters (put down to dehydration), an increase in WBCs and lymphocytes and 16% heinz bodies
Any increase in feline liver enzymes, especially ALP, is significant and reflects ongoing liver injury warranting investigation. I would consider xray and ultrasonography of the abdomen (esp liver, pancreas and bowel) combined with tissue biopsies. I think your suspicion of GIT disease esp triaditis is likely to be correct and performing an fPL, coag screen, plus BA stim tests may be useful adjuncts prior to diagnostic imaging and biopsy. Could the Heinz bodies be other inclusions? How high were the lymphocytes and could you see blasts in the buffy coat?

Hope this helps,
