I have reported these reactions to the VMD as SAR's and would encourage anyone else to do the same.
This quote prompted me to wonder - as I never have - what percentage of vets actually do?
I must confess a small degree of disappointment in only 24 votes out of nearly 4000 people on this forum. Or is there really so little interest in this topic? Why?

PLEASE VOTE

It is anonymous.

I have the memory of a goldfish, but when in doubt, I have voted, possibly for the second time. Apologies if it is.

(would memory loss be a SAR to the co-codamol I had to take tonight?)

Re: Poll: Do you report adverse reactions to VMD?

I've now made the poll a little more eye-catching on the front page of the site.

A little early to be disappointed. I mean not every one of our 4000 members visits every day (I wish ), and even when they do, not all will see the thread, especially if it has fallen down the page a bit.

I am looking at a number of ways of improving this. For example: 1) making the front page link a bit more 'in your face' so people notice it, and 2) perhaps a message which flashes up when members visit the site.

Re: Poll: Do you report adverse reactions to VMD?

I must confess a small degree of disappointment in only 24 votes out of nearly 4000 people on this forum.
I'm not a vet, but surely very useful, in order to quantify scale, and whether the number of SARs may be increasing (or decreasing)?
That's precisely it. Rate of reactions (or rate at which reactions are reported) can change for all kinds of reasons, some of which may need further investigation.

the problem is sometimes being sure of cause and effect. Dog went wobbly and vomited after being bathed in amitraz for demodectic mange: tick. Cat got life-threatening anaemia when started on felimazole: tick. The problem I see is that these were already known adverse reactions. How much use is the data?

With respect to the comment re diltiazem and HCM, could one also add advocate and the treatment of demodectic mange?
