No, just intra-nasal. Never something I've seen a particular issue with. I almost never muzzle, hold nose and cover eyes, hide syringe in other hand and done. I'd say half the dogs don't even notice and the other half have a little sneeze/snort.

We charge the same, even though the nasal is cheaper, but we save time with the injectable! And if they need a course of two as naive dogs then we charge twice. But the majority of first time KC dogs we use nasal then injectable other years. We have added PI into our boosters to cover that part.

Yes I am really looking forward to using the intranasal one on the maneating Caucasian Shepherd tomorrow

Last year I think the muzzle got most of it so the injectable sounds so much easier speared on its backside

All practices I work in charge the same. that is per visit, per vaccination, so if they need a primary course of 2 injections 4 weeks apart, they pay twice.

do you charge differently for the intranasal vs injectable? I am keen to charge the same as it makes our lives so much easier and I don't want to put clients off!!

We stock both, so nasal for pups or dogs that have never had KC, but get through loads of injectable, and use that in all cases we can. It has made life so much easier! It’s also useful for households with immunocompromised people as no issue with the live vaccine and potential human spread. All the local kennels insist on KC vacc so handy for us.

That's a thought, thank you.

It would help with time and the potential risk with immune suppressed staff/ owners/coughing dogs as respira is not a live vaccine.

I think intra nasal for puppies would be better I think, avoiding the need for 2 injections and a booster at 7 months.

I believe pi and dhppi can be mixed with lepto 4? So.only two injections.

Did I once hear that immunity for parainfluenza was less following SC injection as opposed to intra nasal? I might be making that up.

Just use the oral version? Dogs love it.

It comes in single doses.

Since having spinal surgery 3 years ago, I no longer struggle with large, aggressive or difficult dogs giving intranasal KC. One colleague refuses to do them altogether, unless under sedation, after once being badly bitten.

All practices I work in have the injectable, and it is charged the same as the intranasal, including the accompanying Pi if needed.

Only drawback is a primary course of 2 doses 4 weeks apart, then another dose at 7 months. Yearly after that.

In animals that have had intranasal KC, one annual booster only.

I work in a practice (2 vets) where we use the injectable

A lot of practices have Kennel Cough on their health plans, so you wil get through a vial of 10 doses pretty quickly.

Why in this enlightened world, we choose as a profession to squirt a solution up a dogs nose that is 500 times more sensitive than ours is beyond me. We muzzle, dogs are headshy in later consults. Many clients comment that it misses anyway. It's stressful to everyone.

This practice gets through the mulitiuse vial and have I seen more kennel cough here (as you would expect if the vaccine failed) the answer is no

We looked up the price, it's a touch more that the intranasal.

Every time, I do a KC up the nose, I think 'thank goodness, that's one less that I will have to do in my career'

Last 2 years we had a one month in june and tried to gather dogs where this would be helpful and charged a surcharge. Wasn't as successful a plan as I'd hoped but will do the same this year. Don't need it enough to justify stocking all year round
