It has marked hyperkeratosis of all it's pads. It's fur is fine and the nails are reasonable.

RE: Anybody know what this is?
it's microchip is a UK
Not necessarily implanted in the UK. I've seen some rescues that export UK chips to Eastern Europe and implant them there.

RE: Anybody know what this is?

Thank you.

RE: Anybody know what this is?

Yes Distemper did cross my mind, but it is so rare in the uk now, in 25+ years I've never seen it. So I didn't know how much hyperkeratosis it was likely to cause and if it would persist after recovery. We do not have a medical history for this dog but it's microchip is a UK one so we assume it originated here also making leishmania less likely. The dog is otherwise completely well. Thanks for the tip about soaking the feet I will recommend we try it as all the excess growth on the pads is causing it's toes to splay already.

RE: Anybody know what this is?

Anything with salicylic acid / sulfur in - most shampoos have this - e.g. sebolytic, malaseb.

Normally need to soak the feet for 10 minutes twice a day.

Then apply a cream with same ingredients - dermisol, vet-ker or similar. The big pieces of pad will normally start to fall off in a few days

RE: Anybody know what this is?

What sort of keratolytics would you recommend please.

RE: Anybody know what this is?

Hyperkeratosis.
