I got the recipe from zoetis but I’ve forgotten exact details now- think was 5 ml cortavance into 125 ml epi otic or 3 ml dexadresson (2mg/ml) into same.

The reason the zepps worked was the soup in the horizontal canal can escape and the skin dry out properly

I used to do these, but they seem to have fallen out of favour, however did see one post op, done a few months ago in a French Bulldog. Is there any evidence that they actually help? They were used in the day when we didn't really understand the allergic component.

Technically they aren't difficult, in the department of 'brutelectomy' akin to removing half of a vertical drainpipe and far easier than a TECA

I’m in the camp that malassezia is a consequence (but important cause of disease when present) so keeping inflammation to minimum, as clean and dry as possible. So as you said, cortisone (topical cortavance 4-5 drops dropped in by syringe sid when clinical signs present) or the dexamethazone/ epi otic mix once or twice a week with dry wipes in between. No treats containing colouring/ flavours/ processing

BOVA have a new terbinafine/mometasone ear drop that is liquid at friidge temperature and turns into a gel at body temperature. Used twice weekly. Ideal for those inflamed Malassezia -only cases.
