No obvious ear infection, but worse when shakes head.
Bloods taken are unremarkable. Waiting on E cunniculi. Should I start treating for E cunicili just incase as results pending are 7

RE: Rabbit that is wobbly to treat or not?

Hi Hilary, incase it is helpful for the future, PALS do a 24hrs IgG/ IgM for rabbits, massively helps clinically. I would ideally suggest baseline biochem/ harm and eC bloods with CT scan to assess ears. In a study looking at imaging specialists, X-rays were just of 75% sensitive for assessing ear disease presence in rabbits, with US 98% and CT scan 100%. with CT scanning you obvs get the intricate detail that can help with surgery. Many exotic clinics offer out patient CT scanning which can help with costs, rather than a full referral if you were thinking of that route.

CT will be more useful, but of course is less accessible

RE: Rabbit that is wobbly to treat or not?

How long has it been present, and are the clinical signs progressive?

You could wait until the results are back, given that Mark on the other thread reports "Blind fenbendazole is immunosupressive and has been shown to cause bone marrow aplasia"
Is it worth X-ray of the skull to assess the tympanic Bulla
Yes.
or is a CT likely to be of more benefit
Unsure, but all of the practices I work for that would be about as likely as emigrating to Neptune, because of costs.

It may or maynot yield a diagnosis, but is likely to be change the progression of the disease or the eventual outcome?

RE: Rabbit that is wobbly to treat or not?

There’s some useful relevant discussion here www.vetsurgeon.org/.../is-intermittent-head-tilt-in-a-rabbit-cause-for-concern
