It's quite strange as absolutely no gum tissue involved and teeth in really good nick. I was really expecting something nasty on biopsy if I'm honest.

There's a high suspicion of acromegaly with this cat but o happy to get control as best we can. For the last 4 months has been clinically well with no pu pd, has gained weight and been great.

Yes little bit odd that its so assymetric. However, just wondering what the current status is of the cat’s dentition and its signalment. If you get to the point where you have ruled out more sinister pathology, and are happy this is FCGS, is the cat a candidate for total premolar/molar extractions? Have all root remnants been removed? Medical management is generally thought of not to be a replacement for prior surgical management. Ongoing dental disease will of course contribute to the kitty’s insulin resistance.

I don't think that will be an issue very soon. Happily would use cyclosporin and see.

Spoke to Elanco who advised not to use unless no choice as will alter insulin absorption and therefore dose will change and often very difficult to stabilise again
