I got 2 orphan lambs this spring, one female, one male. The male lamb's testicles didn't descent into the scrotum- am I right in assuming that they are inside somewhere? And there is thus a risk of neoplasia or torsion similar to dogs/cats?
GA not hard (if you can do a similar sized dog), but it would be a big cat! Can just top up with ketamine if you change your mind......

RE: Are undescended lamb's testicles in there somewhere?!!

Yes cat only, so don't really have the facility to GA a sheep (or the experience). No reason not to go and remove testicles if wanting to keep.
How easy is it to test for fertility (or I could just let him continue to live with his female buddy and see what happens!
Yes

Never seen either, but they don't usually live long enough for these things to happen. What is the intended purpose of the sheep?
And is he likely to be infertile but could still behave like a ram due to testosterone production?
Yes
Is there any chance he could be fertile?
Low, but always a chance.
