Pyometra has milk. You need to operate.
Do you leave it post op to settle or use galastop?
Thanks in advance

The datasheet does say can cause transient hypotension and says it should not be used immediately after surgery or while still under the influence of anaesthetic agents. I've no idea whether or not this is clinically significant.

I would agree with spay and consider galastop if lactation not resolving on it's owner afterwards.

RE: Pyometra with milk and galastop

If a bit of milk then I would do like Michael, if loads then I would use galastop straight away.

RE: Pyometra with milk and galastop

As it is a prolactin inhibitor and prolactin is produced by the pituitary, I can see no reason why it shouldn't work to reduce milk production.

We were wondering if it would actually work physiologically. We think it acts on the pituatory, but if you remove the ovaries?
