The owners (quite capable folk) found giving 0.55ml diatrim (injectable TMPS) SC by injection once daily with 1ml U-100 insulin syringes to be easy on this specific cat. It was slow to draw up in these syringes, but did draw up and inject fine.

Problem (going on for 4 months on this occasion without proper resolution) seemed to resolve within about 3 to 5 days, but given nature of chronic problem, continued for 10 days total and was a bit inappetant the last 2 to 4 days of this (though had gained little weight on pre-treatment weight overall).

RE: Resistant bug in cat sensitive to TMPS
Have the Aspen Co-trimoxazole (banana-flavoured) suspension also and I doubt the cat will take that (rats love it though).
I had no problems with banana flavoured erythromycin in my cats. Or rather, not more than with any other medication. Not sure about banana flavour specifics, but wouldn't surprise me if they haven't got sensors for it.

RE: Resistant bug in cat sensitive to TMPS

Diatrim in stock in my wholesaler - I've ordered a bottle and will see if it comes.

We normally use the accord TMPS 80 tablets for dogs - they can be quartered by hand (snap between fingers rather than in pill-cutter when they crumble) for small dogs, but I doubt the cat would take them readily.

I see BOVA do a chicken flavoured quarterable one, but I doubt the cat will take that and reluctant to buy 100 of them to find out it doesn't.

Sulphatrim makes cats foam at mouth in my experience.
