Well some die naturally. Has anyone ever done a study on what % of pet animals are euthanised as opposed to dying of their own accord?

RE: A badger on our local News!
We keep pets well until we kill them?
Do we?

I think many old and knackered pets are kept alive far much longer than they should be: old animals with numerous co-morbidities, animals with untreatable cancers, patients that are barely able to breath or walk properly.

Mustelids...Maybe we are lucky in the UK in hat we do not have nor ever have had as far as I know, the biggest/fiercest mustelid found in Scandinavia, the Wolverine! Quite a big bifgger and more owerful, no direct hret to people but aggressive, fierce and powerfu l enough to drive Grizzly Bears off their kills pls even Packs of wolves are reputed to leg-it if a wolverine approaches them! We only have them in theUK at the Cotswold Wildlife park and at Whipsnade zoo. I've loved wolverines for nigh on 50 yers now since I first read about them and have adopted the ones at Cotswold WP! because of this fascination with the Injun Devil as called in Canada! and someone had to!! Fabulous animals

Not to a farm vet - that's literally my job - keep things healthy until ready to shoot and (hopefully) eat.

We keep pets well until we kill them?

Don't get your point.

RE: A badger on our local News!

I was once called out by police to an injured badger. I took a cat cage and gauntlets. The badger was dead when I arrived. When I put it into the cage it filled the whole space. It weighed 16kg. Had it been alive I wouldn’t have had a chance of getting it into that cage!
Isn’t it odd that we get called out to an injured badger, and on the other hand they are killed in their thousands. The Shropshire Star reported that last autumn 4300 badgers were culled in this county. 3600 were shot (at) but not monitored to see whether they had died. The rest was trapped. None was sent to post mortem.

RE: A badger on our local News!

In a previous job we did a lot of work for the SSPCA and treated a few badgers.
