Yes, we are going to go down that route, although most behaviourists seems to bee fully booked and not taking new cases at the moment.

We may go down the route of a neurology referral too, but there are cost constraints, and I'm mindful that once we start it could costs £1000's rather than £100's for little diagnostic yield, and just to say "nothing found, likely or possible Idiopathic epilepsy"

I have performed a basic neurological exam and run baseline bloods, all normal.

Is tht not recognised pre-seizure behaviour? Pro-dromal behaviour? Or similar. Good luck to all of you dealing with this problematic type of case!

My own dog suffers from very intermittent epileptic fits - has done for years. Sometimes she has what I call a 'pre-fit'- with symptoms very similar to what you are describing. Sometimes this then progresses to a full-blown seizure - and sometimes it just fizzles out.

Forgot to add: If this is behavioural a consult with an appropriately qualified behaviour sooner rather than later would be best. There’s really no evidence to support the use of Zylkene and Calmex in fear or anxiety based behavioural problems but psychoactive meds may be warranted along with environmental management etc.

I’m not a neurologist so take this with a hefty pinch of salt but clinical history combined with anti-seizure med trial? Either way, I’d definitely have it on my differential list.

Complex partial seizure activity can present like/similar to this. Worth at least ruling out by a neurologist.
