Normally I don't depend on it in dogs until after I have resolved the otitis but it may prove to be a better fit here earlier on in rabbits as the wax in the elderly is the dominant factor with the yeast more an opportunist at the monent,. Will update the list in 2 weeks when owner reports back in,

RE: Safety of Surolan in Rabbit Otitis plus Rabbit Incontinence

Epiotic is good at killing yeast, I believe

RE: Safety of Surolan in Rabbit Otitis plus Rabbit Incontinence

Tx Michael and Catherine for your replies. I can see animals as long as owners not covid + or isolating so will be able to check it once that clears-given the advanced age of the rabbit I was hoping it just was wax building up with advanced age as rabbit grooms less so keener to use a abt/glc free cleaner first. Epiotic seems to be safe from anecdotal use others have shared info on, but I am curious about Paw's/Blackmore'e ear cleaner-started using it in dogs 1-2 years ago and as basic non-irritant but superb cleaner of ears esp Dachs with those waxy plugs on horiz/vertical border but no infection there-Paws has been superb. However, as a rabbit-I am not keen to extrapolate canine usage. In the event the cytology shows yeast not just wax-Canaural which is ok for rabbits allegedly-not going to be such use here-hence query about Surolan. Other advice I have been given isTobramycin eye drops or Baytril ear drops but neither will do if its yeast.

RE: Safety of Surolan in Rabbit Otitis plus Rabbit Incontinence
Currently under lock-down conditions so additional info not available
Can you still see animals if you believe necessary? This is one I'd want to look at. Give them a good clean if temperament will allow.

RE: Safety of Surolan in Rabbit Otitis plus Rabbit Incontinence

Not an expert, but I believe you need to be really careful with steroids in rabbits.
