Thin , not eaten for a couple of months , recent and ongoing upper respiratory tract infection. Now has a bulge in the heart region .
current viv conditions good but chronic history of poor husbandry . Any rest infection warrants a husbandry review and probably virus swabbing. What are the viv conditions?

So my boss and I stretchedthe skake out to[ a] measure it, hence 3 metres] then x-ray the swelling. ot constpation at all, but an un-expecterd pregnancy. A boa-sized dose of oxytocin and all "snakelets" were produced by the folloewing day reported back to use by the owner! And blimey, these Constictors are extremely strong when tht big, just solid muscle!! After all that, no babies on tha x ray but would oxytovcin work anyway??

About one month later a client presented a tortoise off its food, seemingly losing weight. We decided x-ray was the simplest means of examination? After all, you can't palpate the internals can you and for radiographs they are easy, not moving much or very, very slowly! So we sat the tortoise on the plate, pressed the button and hey-presto had a good image of inside the tortoise. What could we see? Nothing significant, EXCEPT five irregular shelled eggs, so not fresh ones. We rang that hap in London, the reptile expert whose double-barelled name I forget. He advised inverting the tortoise under GA, utting the plastron three sides of a square. open it up, remove the eggs, ovaries and uterus to prevent recurrence, fold theplastron back and superglue it in place allowing 12 months for the plastron to heal back together! David and I looked at each other for all of 30 seconds, shook our heads and said " NO WAY!!" Just No Way! Then we remembered the BO and simply administered an equivalent oxytocin dose, i/m at one of the legs and without any exaggeration, with 5 minutes all 5 eggs were then lying in the basket next to the tortoise! Much, much less stressful for everyone, especially for the tortoise I suspect?! That was a very, very satisfying case! I still have one of those eggs, some 35 years later!! Happy Days!!

RE: Snake with bulge in region of heart

Morning Janine, i'm afraid based on this image alone there wouldn't be any accurate way of differentiating. Are you able to perform ultrasound? I find this imaging modality or a CT scan is more helpful for assessing coelomic contents and the heart. are you able to take respiratory samples, a tracheal/ lung wash for cultures and cytology?
