Thank you kindly Lucy, genuine CPD for me even after early retirement. Alas I qualified a bit longer than 15 years ago and just could not r recall reading about it in the Record or other publication, after qualifiv=cation, so real news for me. Thank you again!

It is - an influenza A virus. Only identified in the last 15 years or so (I think). Seems to have become fairly common in parts of the US but I can't recall off the top of my head hearing about it anywhere else

Is this a real and specific disease with a canine influenza virus? It was never mentioned or suggested when I was at University nor can I recall any published papers about it being fconfirmed as a novel condition? r is it just a label of convenience? The significant respiratory infection has always been distemper to me not a vague or even a Generic Dog-'flu Can someone enlighten me on this please? Thank you...

Of couse distempr is a para-influenza virus s has some confusion crept in?

Not sure but we had a bout of KC earlier in the year. Some dogs were quite unwell which is not common in my experience. They required antibiotics which I generally try to avoid but did all recover.
