We're thinking of switching to the new msd injectable kennel cough vaccination and I was wondering if anyone had any feedback-good or bad.
Apart from the obvious issues with ordering msd products I can't really see any major down sides.

Not sure I've failed yet, but then I spend a lot of time with bigger, fiercer animals.

RE: Injectable kennel cough vaccine

Just use the oral route vaccine. Very easy and hardly noticed by the patient. Not so good for the biters though. They get muzzled and drops up the nose!

RE: Injectable kennel cough vaccine
It does seem odd that vaccine companies are producing warnings about the live vaccines.
To be fair, when you speak to them, they do point that out. Guess you can't put it on a datasheet though!

RE: Injectable kennel cough vaccine
I suppose the only time it may be of use is in households where there is a seriously immuno compromised person.
Damn sight easier to administer then an intranasal to many dogs!

RE: Injectable kennel cough vaccine

I suppose the only time it may be of use is in households where there is a seriously immuno compromised person.

I remember injectable Intrac 2 (I think). That was dropped from the market pretty quickly.

We are getting on fine with the oral vaccine. Dogs don't notice and it allows practices to boycott MSD products as much as is practical.

If Nexgard Combo ends up priced sensibly then we will try to move from Bravecto as much as possible for cats. At present they seem to have done what I expected and added the cost of spot on wormer to the Bravecto price, thinking clients will accept that. Not sure they will!
