Owners have noticed a few things,
1. When sitting down he shakes his right hind leg.
2. A week ago after running around he was limping on his left hind, lasted

RE: Puppy with possible issue

Currently the owners are not convinced there is a problem. Probably? But I would check the joint laxity under sedation/ plus the cruciates on both sides. It could be neurological but I can only recall seeing bunny-hopping in dogs with bilateral hindleg lameness/pain. Does he lean forward onto his forelegs whilst lifting his rear off the ground? That issuggestive of HD if so as well.

Good luck with this one. X rays later if necessary?

Or a JPS (need to do distraction xray for this).

I suspect that's still controversial, but I think picking up these pups with sore hips at 4 months of age is one of the reasons I like doing the "nurse" 4 month puppy checks on labradors.

I'm not saying that is case with this pup though. Just a general statement.

RE: Puppy with possible issue

I'd give a course of your favourite antipain/joint etc reliever and restrict violent movements, jumping of sofas etc and on a lead etc. If NBG then you know it isn't temporary and definitely is something serious so then you do all the Xrays etc.

RE: Puppy with possible issue

Does he come from health tested parents as most border collie breeders run a panel of tests ?
