It is probably very rare and I have never diagnosed one, but being immune-mediated that could explain why steroids would help? It does notably cause soft swelling of the afflicted joints in humans and I would presume this to be the case in pets as well? But has anyone had a seropositive result for a dog or cat with Rh A??

Likewise any glucosamine supplements. I suspect it is allmarketing hype? First choice for immediate pain relief has to be NSAIDs. Metacam liquid for cats. Or if still avalable. Companazone? 25mg x 1 daily in a tiny tablet. It is phenylbutazone of course, so do not overdose!

I never found opioids like Tramadol to help in dogs very much either...N/A to cats anyway...

Not that this helps much now but 8.4kg sounds pretty heavy, even for a Bengal. Is he overweight? If so then getting him back to a healthy BCS will make a big difference, but obviously the owners need to be on board. Adapting the environment so he's not doing things like jumping down from a height and traumatising those elbows may help also.

RE: Feline arthritis options

Also don't discount steroids.
