The nasal drops are unavailable and apparently won't be making a return for at least a year, does anyone know of a practical alternative

RE: DDAVP Alternatives

Funnily enough, I had one of these today- the owner says the pills are nowhere near as good at controlling the symptoms, despite us increasing the dose twice.

RE: DDAVP Alternatives

That's interesting Ian - I haven't seen non-responders - my experience of the pills is generally good and the owners enjoy the price - they are often very unhappy reverting to the drops again lol.
I had one client who injected DDAVP every day (SC works fine) and if we can do it for one sort of diabetes we can do it for the other (just needed to teach them how to snap open the vials. Can get away with low doses and used strategically (i.e. late evening so the floor is dry in the morning and the dog then is allowed to be PU/PD during the day. Not sure it is a long term solution but it does buy you a few weeks to sort out other solutions

Hope this helps
