5 months ago a colleague noted that had discoloured teeth, no follow up
Seen today for vaccination and noticed all teeth are a little strange in colour but especially the canines, incisors and 309 and 409. Or was there any drug administration around 3 months of age?

Is the dog perfectly healthy otherwise?

Deciding what to do is the tough problem. Monitoring essential I think.

RE: Discoloured teeth

No obvious asymmetry here BUT rads without root apices or superimposition of other roots are non diagnostic.
All the teeth are uniformly discoloured with this beige/creaminess and a touch of purple and unchanged since 2 months ago. Here are the oral radiographs - they look all normal to me so I fed back to my colleague that we should monitor the mouth and if the dog is not in for any other reason then to make sure she comes in to see a vet every 6 months at least.

RE: Discoloured teeth

Pics too small resolution to be helpful really.

If noted originally at 10 months the teeth would have ben very immature. Dentin walls very thin and root apices only just closed on the canines.
It might be pulp trauma causing this or something fundamentally abnormal with the enamel or dentin. Good full mouth dental rads are the first step to act as baseline data. Nothing might be found at this stage but if there is any discrepancy in pulp chamber width between similar teeth it would note a problem. For that reason the contralateral teeth are a great help as a comparison.

If nothing much found grossly or radiographically, repeat again in 3-4 months. At this age there should be substantial change in dentin wall width for healthy teeth.
