Over the years we have split tubs with little thought but tablets do rub against each other, tablets break so handling them without gloves will lead to drug exposure. How significant this is to human health I am not sure but it should not be ignored IMO.

We try to use blister packs or liquids wherever possible.

Not heard this but doesn't mean it's not true. Equally doesn't mean its definitely an issue if you do dispense into another pot. We mostly supply full pots, but occasionally we want to give a cat a weeks worth to see if they will actually take it before the owner commits to a full pot of tablets.

The big lumpy cap contains a dessicant. We either dispense the pots of 30 or 100, so I don’t see the need to split.

I've not heard that before, but it turns out the data sheet says this:

Do not store above 25 °C. Store in the original container. Keep the container tightly closed to protect from moisture. Do not remove the desiccant.

I can’t say I’ve heard that and we have definitely split packs. Although we use a lot less of it since Thyronorm appeared.
